Tropical storm Edouard struck the United States at about 15:00 GMT on 5 August. Data supplied by the US National Hurricane Center suggest that the point of landfall was near 29.9 N, 94.6 W. Edouard brought 1-minute maximum sustained winds to the region of around 92 km/h (57 mph). Wind gusts in the area may have been considerably higher.
