Hurricane Ida struck the United States as a tropical storm at about 09:00 GMT on 10 November. Data supplied by the US National Hurricane Center suggest that the point of landfall was near 29.9 N, 88.5 W. Ida brought 1-minute maximum sustained winds to the region of around 83 km/h (51 mph). Wind gusts in the area may have been considerably higher.
