FACTBOX-Security developments in Afghanistan, March 7

March 7 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Afghanistan at 1130 GMT on Saturday:

KHOST - U.S.-led coalition and Afghan troops killed four militants and detained five more during an operation in Khost city, 150 km (90 miles) southeast of Kabul, the U.S. military said.

But hundreds of protesters later blocked the main Kabul-Khost highway saying those killed were not militants.

KANDAHAR - U.S.-led and Afghan forces killed three militants in two seperate operations in Maywand district, 400 km (250 miles) southwest of Kabul, the U.S. military said.

NIMROZ - Police shot dead a would-be suicide bomber as he entered a police compound in Nimroz city, 675 km (420 miles) southwest of Kabul, police said. The bomber's explosives detonated in the shooting, killing two policemen. (Compiled by Hamid Shalizi
