WASHINGTON, Oct 29 (Reuters) - A 5.4 magnitude earthquake struck southern Mexico on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported. The epicenter of the quake was 28 miles (45 km) northeast of Alvarado in Veracruz state, the USGS said. There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
