USGS reports 6.3 quake in Peru, close to Bolivia

WASHINGTON, Sept 30 (Reuters) - A magnitude 6.3 quake struck in southeastern Peru on Wednesday, close to Bolivia's capital of La Paz, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

It said the quake, fairly deep at 160.3 miles (258 km), occurred about 100 miles (162 km) northwest of La Paz.

There was no immediate report of damage or casualties.
